The 23rd of July we arrived in San Diego, CA. This was the first contest we had ever done one year ago. We really wanted to come back and do well, we did, we didn't set the world on fire but we finished 4th overall, with a 4th place in brisket our only trip to the awards stage. The Contest had 18 teams which was pretty good I thought. Surprised we had finished so high in the pack. Consistant in all catagories, that's the key. Gene from Out of this World BBQ had put on another fantastic venue, and raised a good amount of money for Boys and Girls Clubs. My daughter Janelle was there to help us and that always makes it a special occassion. We had a great weekend!
